LETTER TO
INTELLIGENCE AND SECURITY COMMITTEE 4 JUNE 04

4 June 2004

Mr Alistair

and Security

Dear Corbett

HAKLUYT

Thank you for your
letter dated 2 June on behalf of the Rt. Hon. Ann Taylor MP, Chairman of the
Intelligence and Security Committee. I have obviously noted the content with
great interest and I am extremely grateful to the Chairman for her decision to
draw this matter to the attention of her Committee colleagues.

In this connection
I enclose some relevant further information including self-explanatory letters
to Hakluyt director and former senior MI6 officer, Mr Christopher James. As can
be seen, I have now discovered that the tentacles of the sinister organisation,
Hakluyt, extend even into the heart of the UK establishment, The Church of
England.

  - Email dated 14
April 2004 entitled “SHELL TRANSPORT & HAKLUYT MI6 SPY FIRM – ONE AND THE
SAME?”  This was sent to Mr Colin Joseph of Kendall Freeman, the solicitors
who for several years have been representing the Royal Dutch Group in its
dealings with me, until they received this particular email. They parted
company with Shell at this point, so no response was forthcoming to the
important questions that I raised. One can only speculate about the reason for
their sudden departure. Shell has never been willing to discuss its
relationship with Hakluyt so I came up against a blank wall. With regards to
Mr ******, the American gentleman mentioned in the email, I have
subsequently discovered that he begun his exotic career by being involved in
an intelligence project relating to Afghanistan. This information is published
on the US National Security website courtesy of the US Freedom of Information
  Act.

  - Letter to Lord
Falconer, the Lord Chief Justice, dated 20 May 04. No response thus far. A
reply should arrive fairly soon as there is a pledge on the website of the
Department of Constitutional Affairs to respond within 15 working days.

  - Letter dated 2
June 04 faxed direct to Hakluyt inviting them to answer questions.

  - Email response
dated 3 June received from a Church of England solicitor regarding the fax to
  Hakluyt.

  - Letter dated 3
  June 04 faxed to Hakluyt.

I have advised Mr
James at Hakluyt of your letter and suggested that if he responds quickly, I
would happily pass the letter to your Committee. I suspect however that I will
be waiting for a long time. I have also pointed out that he is of course free to
contact your Committee direct. Again I doubt if you will hear from him.

Yours sincerely

Alfred Donovan
